The Amazon Rainforest was always a dream destination for me and I never imagined that it would be possible to travel there. So when the opportunity to do my BSc and Mres research in the Peruvian Amazon came up, I jumped at it. Equipped with forty camera traps, I set out to study the dynamics between jaguars, pumas and ocelots in the flooded rainforest. The seasonally flooded forests would see the river level rise up to 12m and more in some places, so the questions was- where did the cats go, how did they cope with this ever changing landscape and how did they avoid each other and still survive?

As a keen birder, the Atlantic Rainforest is pure catnip for me!
