Borneo is home to five species of wild cat each uniquely adapted to this thick jungle: the bay cat, Sundra clouded leopard, marbled cat, Sunda leopard cat and flat-headed cat. What makes each of them so fascinating is that they are difficult to find and even today not much is known about any of them. Although we spent a bit of time in these jungles and even set-up camera traps, we only caught a glimpse of the Sunda leopard cat. The birdlife is equally fascinating with over 30 species endemic to the island.
